In 2006, he became a member of the Greenwich Trio, with violinist Lana Trotovsek and pianist Yoko Misumi. While at school, the three of them traveled to the US, to study with Bernard Greenhouse (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bernard_Greenhouse), at his home on Cape Cod. Greenhouse felt they were a worthy successor to the Beaux Arts Trio (http://www.beauxartstrio.org/about.html), that he was a founding member of and played with for over 30 years.
While they were studying with him, Greenhouse presented Stjepan his Cornellison cello, and Lana, a Cornellison violin.
Stjepan has said that he sometimes misses playing in a trio, and that he would like them to play together again, sometime in the future. In a recent television interview, he commented that the combination of cello, violin and piano are “his favorite” and that the most beautiful pieces of music are composed for this combination. While he again mentioned an interest in performing with the trio again, he did not sound as though he missed it quite as much as he did in 2011.
