Translation of the commentary:
Oliver: Good evening Pula, good evening, dear friends. What a combination...it's a miracle. He's young, talented, fast. I'm old, tired, too romantic. When you put it together, something has to come from it. I wanted to say, where's our orchestra? We're alone, you and I? What's going to happen? If you have strong nerves, keep sitting here. If you fall asleep, we have a few faster songs. But this is a theatrical approach, let's stay dignified, please. I need to say hi to Stjepan's mom and dad.
Stjepan: Mom! Where are you?
Oliver: If I got a chance like they got, back in my day...who knows where I'd be...They were fortunate, besides being wonderful musicians, Luka and him, that YouTube made them famous. Elton John saw them, Sony saw them, they became world famous stars over night. I 'caught the last ship'. I kind of barged in. For me, Pula is just fine. I also wanted to say that I played with Stjepan in London. Right, Stjepan? ( Stjepan shows thumbs up) We played in Albert Hall. Before Elton John, just so you know...
Stjepan: OK...
Oliver: We have just a couple of songs, you know. That's why I'm talking a lot. We need to pass the time. One of those songs is...actually, the second one, not the first...now let's get serious. Make a 'theater face' and let's go. What now?
During 'Pismo moja': Do you know this one? Should we start over?
After 'Tristeca': What after this? Now that we've all 'killed ourselves'...This one has depressive lyrics, but the rhythm is a little better, so that will save us somehow. It's called 'Više mi nije važno'. ('It doesn't matter anymore') It can't be worse. So what? First, a 'fake choir'. It's few of us, it's a hard recession, you know. We reduced the orchestra to two people. It's a big struggle now, we're trying to agree which one of us will stay. I have a bigger chance to go away, because I'm a lot older. It's more logical for me, it's a biological process. But I won't give in, I'm holding onto the piano, I'm not letting go, no way. I wanted to say that I'll start this one, check it out.
After 'Više mi nije važno': Stjepan Hauser and the rhythm! The next song will knock you down. We'd say, it will nail you to the ground. It's called 'Ostavljam te samu'. (I'm leaving you alone'). Don't be mad, this one's nice. They're all actually nice, but they're sad, so what? This man is maybe suffering, because he's usually with Elton and it's always joyful. Everybody there is like 'hahaha' and it's all so pretty. And here it's sadness, so what? The situation is like that, sorry Stjepan. And let's all be forgiving. Oh my, this one is so hard. Shall we?
After 'Note di Natale': Shall we?
Stjepan: Which one?
Oliver: 'Kad mi dođeš ti'. ('When you come to me')
After 'Kad mi dođeš ti':Thanks a lot. As Leonard Cohen would say, it's a big honor to sing for you. But I'm also honored to introduce dear Stjepan Hauser here. He rarely plays at home, but when he does, it's always a great pleasure to listen to him. He's so good that he doesn't need to say anything. Just play! I don't have time, I've got so little time left.
After 'Ako voliš me' ( 'If you love me' ): I wrote this next song. Yes. Thank you, thank you. Take it easy, you haven't heard it yet. Don't clap before its time. You never know. Today, during rehearsal, it was dark. We thought 'What if we come to play and there's no one there? Or what if we do a song, close our eyes and enjoy, then open our eyes and see that everyone left?' That's why I'm telling you...You shall hear it now. If you like it, clap. If you don't, still clap. There we go. Oh my, it's the hardest thing...to sing your own songs. It's easy if it's from someone else. There's a phrase for that, I mustn't say it. It's easy to...well, this is a theatre.
After 'Za onu viru' ('For that faith'): Bravo, Stjepan!
After 'Magdalena': Where were we, 'Bez tebe' ('Without you')? We can do that one. It was on the top hit lists in Pula for weeks. This song.
Stjepan: In Pula?
Oliver: Yes, in Pula, on the radio. Why? Because my friend was working there. He's asking all kinds of things...
After 'Bez tebe': What a guy! He's forcing me to work...
