Interview was done around the 15th or 16th of May and posted online on the 21 May.
Stjepan is still in a soft neck collar but he is playing his cello!!!
Luka actually looks in worse shape--both his hands have abrasions that look pretty raw. What the heck did he tangle with?!! Did he land badly when paragliding? Thanks to 2CELLOS Brasil, the original video now has English subtitles and there is a written English translation below the video:
For some reason YouTube video isn't embedding correctly but here is actual link:
STJEPAN - Show us (Stjepan and the interviewer, Davor Garic (a Croatian television journalist and actor) sing the chorus of 'Nadalina,' a song fans of Oliver Dragojevic will be very familiar with) STJEPAN – You sing well INTERVIEWER - I know STJEPAN – You’re excellent INTERVIEWER – So what has happened to your neck? STJEPAN – I was constantly turning around to check out babes. One girl caught my eye and when I turned, my neck just went “khkk”. It was done. INTERVIEWER – Is it true that you’ve had to cancel all of your US tour due to the injury? STJEPAN – Yes, the second half of the US tour LUKA – We’ve has all 16 shows sold out and it’s all gone down the drain now (Excerpt of 'They Don't Care About Us' plays) INTERVIEWER – The last video that they have released has already won audiences around the world. The song by the King of Pop, ‘They Don’t Care about Us’ was chosen due to its powerful message LUKA – People are waging wars against one another when in reality, it is all being controlled by a few individuals, elite corporations who do not really care about us ordinary people INTERVIEWER – How do you feel about such injustice? LUKA - We as artists have an obligation to point out such things via music and art. INTERVIEWER - When they are not sending out clever message(s) with their cellos, they are having fun playing Severinas’ hits. I think Severina should invite you to one of her concerts. That’s if she hasn’t already (They play an exerpt of one of Severina's hits) STJEPAN – I am ready for collaboration with her! (laughs) INTERVIEWER - Dear Severina, here you go... LUKA – Can’t we do some kind of a trio? (laughs) STJEPAN – Collaboration with us 3...but without the cellos... (laughs) INTERVIEWER – When Love and women are the topic of discussion, this duo is a bit shy; When are you going to settle down? STJEPAN – When we find the right one! I am always looking for that ‘right one’ INTERVIEWER – How is it possible that you travel so much around the world and you still haven’t come across her? STJEPAN – Well, it always appears that you have found ’The right one’... so then you travel further and look for the ‘right one’ again. (laughs) INTERVIEWER – Luka what are you like when it comes to these matters? LUKA – Well I am....a little bit more normal... (laughs) INTERVIEWER – Guys, what would you say is the best thing you take from Croatia when you are on the road? LUKA – Maybe it’s that unity. Wherever in the world we play, the Croatian community comes out to support us; they come to our concerts. STJEPAN – with Croatian flags LUKA – yes, they wave the flags in the audience; we think that’s great. It moves us and encourages us to play even better (another musical excerpt: Stjepan is playing a piece called Geni Kameni by Marko Perković Thompson. Thompson is a patriotic, somewhat controversial singer, who rose to popularity during the 90's war. The excerpt does sound a little like 'Thunderstruck') INTERVIEWER – When are these big grand concerts happening? What’s the plan? LUKA – We are starting again with a tour in Germany, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Hong Kong Italy STJEPAN – we are going to be home a bit as well LUKA – Yes. This summer we are performing around Croatia, in Rovinj, Hvar, Zadar. Our aim is to do revolutionary arrangements and combine classic music with the rock to break down the barriers between different genres. That’s what we are best at and that’s what people like INTERVIEWER – What do you guys do when you’re not playing? STJEPAN – We are on sick leave (laughs) that’s the only time we are not playing LUKA – I try to play sports, I like to keep active INTERVIEWER – Show us your hands ; look at them LUKA – Here INTERVIEWER – You’re too strong STJEPAN – It’s not from boxing (laughs) LUKA – I got in a fight in a club (laughs) STJEPAN – He’s become mischievous! (laughs) INTERVIEWER – Mischievous guys, only on stage with their cellos in their hands though, you can watch them perform in Zagreb on 9th June
